General Info

Medical Information

If your child is on medication or has any medical conditions that our teachers should be aware of, please provide the relevant details, including any action plans and emergency contact numbers.

In cases where your child may require medical attention during class, we kindly request that a parent or guardian remain nearby to ensure prompt assistance if needed.

What to Bring to Class

Each student should bring a named dance bag containing the following:

  • A named water bottle, which will be stored in the designated cubes on the far side of the studio.

  • Any necessary medical items, such as an asthma inhaler or other requirements.

  • A jumper or warm clothing for cooler weather to wear after class.

Please ensure the bag is checked weekly for any notes or updates.

Note: Snacks are not permitted during class.

Parent Watching

For Kindy classes, parents are welcome to stay and observe at the beginning of the year. As the year progresses, we encourage parents to drop off their children and collect them afterward to foster independence.

As space is limited, we ask that only the parents attend to watch. We understand there are situations you need to bring your other children along.

Special family members visiting from out of town are welcome to observe. Please inform the teachers in advance.

For Let’s Dance classes, we ask you drop off and pick up you children from the foyer area. If your child prefers you stay, please discuss this with us — we are flexible and understand that each child’s needs are different.

We have a "Watching Week" during the last week of each term, as well as occasional "Join in with Me" days throughout the year. You will be notified of these days in advance.

For privacy reasons, we ask that parents refrain from taking photos or filming.

End of Year Concert

We hold an End-of-Year Concert at the Albany Entertainment Centre, a highlight of the year for students. Our goal is to make this event as smooth and enjoyable as possible for everyone involved.

The concert provides an exciting opportunity for students to build confidence and showcase the skills they have developed throughout the year.

Additional Costumes & Dancewear

Additional costumes are required for the concert, with costs varying annually. As a general guideline, please budget approximately $100. Costumes are typically arranged for your child unless you are otherwise informed.

Dance shoes and tights will also be required; you will receive advance notice to allow time for purchase.

Rehearsals

To ensure a polished performance, additional rehearsals at the theatre are required during the week leading up to the concert. We aim to make this process as manageable as possible, particularly for our younger students.

Parent Involvement

Parent assistance is essential and greatly appreciated for the concerts. However, there are limited spaces. Volunteer request notes are sent out during Terms 3 and 4 for those who would like to help.
